Mr. Sand's Demo to Fight Breast Cancer (8/20)

posted Aug 7, 2011, 8:26 AM by Ray Nelson
Please join us for a fund raiser and karate demonstration on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Since we can't punch cancer, we'll punch Mr. Sand instead. Team Atlanta will be participating in a fund-raiser for breast cancer research on Saturday August 20. The event will take place in the Mid Broadwell Trace neighborhood of Alpharetta.

We will be performing a karate demonstration and for every dollar raised Mr Sand will take a punch. If you'd like to volunteer to participate in the demo and/or if you'd like to donate to help find a cure for breast cancer, please contact Mr. Sand before or after class or by email at All proceeds will go to sponsor Mr. Sand's wife to walk in the Atlanta 2 Day Walk for Breast Cancer.

Karate Demo
Sat., Aug. 20, 2011   3:30 pm EST
7435 Mid Broadwell Trace
Alpharetta, GA 30004
Phone: 678.779.8983

We're asking people to start showing up at 3:30 pm. The demo will start at 4:30. I'd like all the karate demo participants to show up no later than 4:00 pm so we can talk through everything and get organized.  Everyone should wear their gi, and again you might want to wear shoes during the demo. Hats or sunglasses might not be a bad idea.

One of the great things about Yoshukai Karate is the work that our students (if you didn't know already; we are all students) to help the community, charities, and disaster relief.  This year alone we have supported several worthy events and organizations including "Relay for Life", "Shamrockin For A Cure", "Japanese Disaster Relief", "Leukemia & Lymphoma Society" and "Breast Cancer Research".
